Regular Season Round 8: Hatillo - Leonas 75-62

There was no surprise when 10th rankedLeonas (1-4) were defeated on the road by second ranked Hatillo (4-3) 75-62 on Monday. Strangely Leonas outrebounded Hatillo 51-37 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard McKenzie Forbes (183-2000, college: USC, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and guard Essence Booker (173-1999, college: UNLV) who added 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. Center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and swingman Taya Corosdale (190-1999, college: Duke) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Hatillo went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Santurce. Leonas lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with four games lost.
